Two-Day Mountain Elopement with Mt. Rainier Backdrop | Washington Elopement Photographer

Suzy and Robert planned a deeply personal two-day elopement in Washington at LOGE Alta Crystal, choosing intention over tradition and nature over a formal venue. We drove from Seattle to a quiet camping site, LOGE Alta Crystal, tucked into the trees, where they created an intimate ceremony surrounded by forest and family.

As the bride’s sister, being present for this day was already meaningful. The whole experience reflected who they are and how they wanted their wedding to feel.

If you’re planning a Washington elopement or dreaming of mountain wedding photos with Mt. Rainier as your backdrop, this celebration is proof that simple can be powerful. When you book your elopement with me I help you plan from start to finish! I loved helping Susanna and Robert plan their Washington elopement.

Day One: Intimate Forest Ceremony Near Seattle

We got ready at their apartment while listening to some music to pump us up for the day! It was relaxed. Robert snuck out in the morning to get Susanna one of her favorite breakfast meals.

We packed the car and headed to Loge Alta Crystal Resort for the rest of the day. Driving up with the Mt. Rainer views was stunning! Washington’s natural beauty always blows me away! Suzy and Robert chose a small camping site outside Seattle for their ceremony location. Towering trees created a natural cathedral, filtering soft light onto the forest floor. The woods framed everything beautifully.

Robert’s parents stood nearby. A close friend officiated the ceremony. Their dog, Indy, wandered freely and explored the forest, perfectly embodying the relaxed spirit of the day.

The ceremony felt grounded and authentic. No pressure. Just vows exchanged in the open air with birds overhead and trees swaying gently behind them.

For couples considering a camping elopement in Washington state, this kind of setting offers privacy, flexibility, and stunning natural backdrops for photography.

A Laid-Back Grilling Reception in the Woods

After the ceremony, the celebration continued around the campsite. Instead of a traditional catered reception, Robert’s dad fired up the grill.

Dinner included:

  • Steak cooked over an open flame

  • Fresh lemon cake

  • Don Perignon to toast their marriage

The simplicity made it memorable. Laughter echoed through the trees. Glasses clinked. We photographed some sunset photos right there with the beautiful golden light coming through the trees. Robert and Susanna changed into more relaxed clothes to finish out the night being comfy!

Day Two: Crystal mountain Wedding Portraits

The next day, the three of us packed up and drove higher into the mountains. With Indy alongside us, Suzy and Robert put their wedding attire back on for midday portraits in front of Mt. Rainier at Crystal Mountain.

Mt. Rainier provided a dramatic, iconic Washington backdrop. The scale of the mountain contrasted beautifully with the intimacy of the previous day’s ceremony.

Midday light in the mountains can be bright, but the elevation and open landscape created crisp, bold imagery. Snow-capped peaks framed them in a way no venue ever could.

For couples planning a Washington mountain elopement, splitting the celebration across two days allows space for both ceremony and adventure portraits without feeling rushed. This type just gives you room to enjoy your adventure together.

Why a Two-Day Elopement Works So Well

A two-day elopement gives couples:

  • Space to be present during the ceremony

  • Time for adventure portraits in a second location

  • Flexibility with lighting

  • A relaxed, unhurried experience

Suzy and Robert’s Washington elopement felt intentional from beginning to end. They created a wedding that was authentic to them.

Planning a Washington Elopement?

Whether you’re considering a forest ceremony, a camping wedding, or mountain portraits with Mt. Rainier, Washington offers some of the most breathtaking elopement locations in the Pacific Northwest.

If you’re planning an intimate wedding in Washington state and want it documented with care and intention, I would love to help you tell your story.

Elopements prove that you don’t need a large guest list to have a deeply meaningful wedding day. Sometimes all you need is the mountains, the trees, your people, and a bottle ready to celebrate.

Rush Creek Golf Course | Alyssa & Luis | Maple Grove Wedding Photographer

Alyssa & luis marry at rush creek!

Alyssa and Luis were married at Rush Creek Golf Course on a cool sunny October day. The light was beautiful, the setting was peaceful, and everything came together perfectly.

Neither Alyssa nor Luis loves being the center of attention, but you never would have known. They were relaxed and happy.

Their first look took place right outside the main doors of the venue, a quiet moment that set the tone for what was to come. The ceremony was held in the small courtyard overlooking the golf course.

The day carried a simple elegance with soft greens and whites throughout the details. Alyssa’s favorite part of her gown was the lace that covered her train, and it looked incredible with the stunning lace details.

Every moment moved smoothly, creating the kind of calm and joyful day that reflected their relationship so well. Rush Creek Golf Course was the perfect setting for their celebration.

Mill City Museum Wedding Photography | Sarah & Mitchell | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Sarah & mitchell marry at Mill City Museum in minneapolis!

Sarah and Mitchell’s wedding was filled with meaning from start to finish in the heart of Minneapolis. While not every detail went exactly as planned, the moments that mattered most unfolded beautifully. They were given a warm September day that made their portraits and outdoor vows even more special.

The morning began with a first look at Gold Medal Park. We had lots of fun making our way walking towards their ceremony spot! Sarah wore a gown covered in pearls with a dramatic train. She looked breathtaking, and her happiness drew everyone in.

Their wedding took place at Mill City Museum, one of the most iconic landmarks in Minneapolis. In the courtyard they exchanged vows that had everyone smiling, and the emotion of the moment carried through the rest of the day.

The reception carried a cozy and romantic feel. Guests gathered under fairy lights for dinner, surrounded by touches of sage green, black, and gold. The celebration closed with an energetic dance floor. Sarah and Mitchell had been looking forward to that moment, and it was the perfect ending to their day.

We took some intimate portraits at the top of Mill City Museum and they are some of my favorites from the day! I hope you enjoy them too! Please love on these two newly married love birds and their wedding day!
