Minnesota Summer

Fourth Of July Weekend | Sanchez Adventures | Personal

A four day weekend really suites me! At least this is what I found out of the fourth of July weekend. The Waits family is a family of many annual traditions; I think it was more things that worked so well we just kept doing them throughout the years.  Some of my favorites are religiously attending the Minnesota State Fair, boating on the Fourth of July, apple picking in the fall, running to the Christmas tree. ( I wrote a whole blog post with a couple of others which you can click HERE to read)

My family had plans to lay low for the fourth of July this year. Everyone in Minnesota was out and about all weekend! We were able to stretch a couple of events over the last couple of days making for an epic weekend.

Sunday - Every Independence Day weekend our church has the service outside on the front lawn! And I am pretty sure half of the congregation would leave the church is there was not picnic to follow. After we got home we packed up and headed to the boat. The Saint Croix was bustling with boats, flamingo floaties, jetskiis, and kayaks. Sunburn and filled with pizza, we sat on Hudson beach and watched the fireworks for Booster Days.

Monday - My sister Summer was having her makeup done at Sepora in the morning for her shooting in the afternoon. So I got a little window shopping  done ad when we got home we started shooting her! Once that was all done as a family we drove over to the Lake Harriott Band-shell to listen to the Minnesota Orchestra for some patriotic music!

Tuesday morning Marcus and I picked up dad and spent the morning in Afton for the annual parade they have there! One of the floats was a wedding one where several couple volunteered and you got married right in the middle of the parade! What a cool idea!!
in the evening we headed home sat around the table and just enjoyed each others company!

It was a breathe of fresh air to step away from normal business and explore Minnesota.

Lebanon Hills Park Engagement Photography | Katelyn & Ethan

Katelyn and Ethan meet through various lunches with mutual friends at Marantha Baptist University! It took some smooth moves but Ethan eventually asked for Katelyn's number.  After talking and getting to know each other Ethan came to realize that he was enjoying his time with Katelyn more and more. He chalks it up to witchcraft!

During their last Christmas break, Ethan was visiting Katelyn. Not only would they be celebrating Katelyn's Birthday (Dec. 31st) but also their 1 year anniversary! (Jan.1st) Between Christmas and new years Riverside Park in La crosse, WI annually hosts a large Christmas display. Due to Katelyn's strong love of Christmas lights, they decided they would go on her birthday! In the warm glow of twinkle lights, they walked around reminiscing over their favorite parts of the year. As midnight approached they made their way over to the light house display ( Katelyn loves lighthouses). The clock was just about to welcome a new year, when Ethan got down on one knee and asked Katelyn to marry him. Katelyn said "he timed it just right so he could tell people he had to wait until the next year for his answer!"  She of course said yes!

They are looking forward to a fall wedding this year! Until then please enjoy Katelyn and Ethan's sun soaked engagement session at Lebanon Hills Regional Park!!!

Kaposia Landing Photography | One Year Anniversary | Tara & Ty

Looking back a year from when your wedding day took place you will not believe how time has just flown by. For their one year anniversary Tara wanted to do something special for Ty. Tara having had a recent surgery having a fancy dinner was out of the running.
We were excited to meet up at a small water front park right on the banks of the Mississippi.
The sky was a little cloudy but the sun peaked out of the billowing clouds at least once or twice.
Tara and Ty had become pros at relaxing and enjoying their time on the shoot. Their favorite parts of being married has been not only seeing how well Ty meshes great with the Zschokke familybut also being able to spend every day together!  One Year down - Forever to go!
