This past weekend I headed out to hangout with Alex and Megan at one of their favorite Minneapolis trails on Lake Harriet. We started in the Lyndale Rose Garden and walked their sweet dog, Penny. We caught up on wedding plans and enjoyed the last bit of winter Minnesota is holding on to. We were calling this shoot a practice run for their wedding day and they killed it! I know they will be amazing when it comes to their big day with all that practice out of the way!
Alex and Megan have known each other for 9 years. They even went to the same high school! But their paths weren't meant to cross until Megan was hired on to work at Alexβs Coffee Shop- Smith. Although her time there was brief, it was all it took to spark this friendship. Years of being friends became something more and Megan told me there were some outings that they didnβt know were dates until they reflected back during that time. Well it was 50/50 on who took the initial step in taking this friendship to the next level but during our conversation on the topic Alex gave Megan an extra 10 points that she pursued him a little more, making it 60/50.
From their first official date to a friendβs play in the park, to now some five years later and they are engaged!
Megan and Alex are very big into monthiversary, so when Nov 11th came around impatience got the better of Megan. While they were chilling at home, she conveyed to Alex she was a little disappointed because she thought he was gonna purpose that day. Well she jumped the gun because Alex was already planning that same thing! Instead of making her wait even more Alex purposed right there. Of course she said yes!
I cannot wait to celebrate with them their July wedding this summer!!
Please enjoy some of their engagement photos below.

Do you know Becca & Scott? We had done a session a couple of years ago which is still to-date the coldest shoot I have ever done. We laughed about it this past weekend at their ENGAGEMENT SESSION. I could not have been more excited to re-shoot these high school sweethearts years later. The meet in high school and stuck it through, something that not many do.
Scott told me he was going to pop the question when he visited Becca for Thanksgiving. For her last semester in college Becca could not be more done! Scott had a plan, after work take Becca to a beautiful waterfall and make his girl his fiance in one simple question! Easy Peasy right? Well, since Becca was not in on the plan she made other plans. Not seeing any need to rush, she made some time to have Scott meet her work family.
Since the plan was to prose at sunset in front of a waterfall ( can you get more romantic than that?) it was a little darker than Scott anticipated so they drove past his desired location and it took a couple of trys before finding it again. As Scott was desperately looking for the right turn to the said waterfall, Becca connected the dots and started to make suggestions of pretty spots along the way.
They finally made it and Scott started to lay his heart out to Becca; he was in the middle of his proposal when Becca asked if he was gonna get down on his knee! He assured her that he was going to but he was going to finish first. Well he got through it and down on one knee and asked his best friend to marry him. She of course said YES and couldn't look at anything else but her new shiny friend sitting on her hand all the way back.
They will be continuing to choose each other next year for their late summer wedding! SO EXCITED! Please enjoy a small preview of their engagement session last weekend. Didn't they rock it?!
Blackhawk State Park Engagment Photography | Sara & Isaac | Eagan Engagement Photographer
Isaac and Sara meet online. You know how dating goes now a days, you open a profile and talk to people. After years on all these types of dating websites, Sara had had enough. She decided that she would only keep open one profile and if God sent someone she was there. Thatβs when God led Issac to this spunky red headβs profile. She shared her love of God which was enough for him take that step to pop up a little message in Saraβs inbox. It helped she was pretty cute too. After talking back and forth they finally decided to meet. Sara got to pick the first date and they both served together at Feed My Starving Children. They werenβt able to talk too much with the work but at the end date number two was scheduled, because how can you not fall for someone who is helping others!
By date three Sara knew God had given her something special and with a stomach full of butterflies she told Isaac her feelings and thankfully he felt the same way. From there it didn't take long for like to turn to love.
Fastwarder to the day before Saraβs birthday. She had taken the day off because it was her birthday weekend and lunch was planned at Mongolian Grill.(One of their favorite meal spots) Isaac went to pick her up and as he was helping her into his car he knelt right there and asked to marry her! Sara was so surprised but so excited to say yes to the man she loved .
Canβt wait to celebrate with them at their wedding next summer.
