Mounds View Wedding Photography with Mubanga & Brad!

Micro weddings have become a thing in 2020 for brides and grooms whose plans have changed for covid. But even a global pandemic can’t stop the love between two people who desire to become husband and wife. That is the case for Brad and Mubanga. As plans have been adjusted time and time again, one thing has not, their desire to be together during this crazy time.
No matter how you decided to get married, the day you marry your person is still a special one!

Like many people these days, Mubanga and Brad met on a dating app. Although they disagree on who reached out to who first, sparks flew once they started talking. They have a shared love of food, which is why a simple dinner at an Asian restaurant was their first date. Unfortunately, Mubanga hated her dish so much that she ended up eating most of Brad’s instead. He didn’t seem to mind. So it is no surprise that one dinner turned into many. And it was over dinner that Brad asked Mubanga to become his wife.

They had a modest backyard wedding at their Mounds View home with only the closest friends and family in attendance. Due to flying restrictions some of Mubanga’s family in Zambia were unable to attend in person so they had a Zoom Call instead. Even their officiant was on the zoom call! I know the couple were excited that they could be there in spirit and mind. Now, I have to tell you, Mubanga was excited to marry Brad, BUT she was just as excited about her dress! (Can you blame this queen?!) She had it special ordered from one of her favorite Zambian designers back home. With just measurements and her dreams given on the phone a couple of weeks later this masterpiece arrived at their doorstep. One of my favorite details is the circle design was a recurring design for the whole family. Brad’s tie and her son’s held the same design as her dress. Mubanga’s mom has passed from this world, but Mubanga wanted to keep her photo close to her heart all day so she had her photo in a locket around her neck for her special wedding day.

My favorite part of the day was their vows. They recited traditional vows, but when said outloud they were spoken with such heart you could feel them as they were being said, which was very powerful.

During their portraits after the ceremony, this bride and groom were SO excited for their get away up north to Duluth for some solid relaxation just the two of them.

Although this day was short, it was so much fun to be a small part of.

Please enjoy their wedding day sneak peek!

The Depot Wedding Photography | Gabrielle & Tyler | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

This beautiful Jewish wedding of Gabrielle and Tyler took place at The Depot Downtown Minneapolis. I was able to shoot alongside Gina Zeilder to serve this cute couple.

We spent the morning getting ready in one of their sweets drinking apple juice and enjoying lots of laughter. Once Gabrielle added the finishing touches ( And to be extra she even had her perfume of Gabrielle Channel because can you be more extra than having your name on your perfume?) She had her first look of the day with her bridesmaids and Bridesmen. The tears of excitement were real as they soaked her all in. Gabby gifted all of them little Tiffany Co bracelets for the girls and cufflinks for the guys.

With excitement levels high, we made our way downstairs to get Tyler ready to meet his bride. Their first look was beautiful and they were just excited to start the day.

After baring the cold and doing portraits outside. We headed in to see the ceremony space. Gabrielle and Tyler hadn't seen it done but when they did it was all dropped jaws. It was GORGEOUS!

The aisle was lined with high vases with roses in water topped with a stunning bouquet of roses and other assortment of flowers. The Houpa was a show stopper with the whole top show casing the same amount of flowers. The other side of the aisle was decked with white trees with handing crystal and tea lights.

This is a ceremony that dream are made of. The third first look of the day was with Gabrielle’s grandparents Diana and Saul. They were just as blown away on how everything turned out as everyone else.

But they were more blown away on how beautiful Gabrielle was in her full wedding attire. "Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?!" This is what Gabrielle's grandmother kept saying to me when i asked her what she thoughts about how everything turned out!

After Family Formals were done we all headed to the Frost Room to sign the hauka which is a Traditional mini Jewish ceremony.

Once it was signed we all made our way to the ceremony. One surprise for the bride and groom was a performance of Gabrielle's mom singing the 7 blessings for them. Her mom's voice was stunning as she serenaded the couple with traditional Jewish blessings. At the end Tyler crushed the glass ( he raised his arms in triumph) and surprise number two took place as an 18 piece chorus started to sing Gabrielle favorite Beatles Song " All You Need Is Love." She was SO SURPRISED and DELIGHTED!

The reception took place in the grand ballroom with a pink winter wonderland theme. It was just stunning and classy.

Highlight of the reception were Grandpa and Mom's speeches. They were heartfelt and beautiful and showchased their love for their little girl and her new groom, the dessert table was a spread of Wisconsin and Minnesota shaped pies on a stick with the Cake having a little cat topper that was made of Gab and Tyler's fur baby, and the dancing was fantastic!

The day was a dream and I wish this couple all the love as they step forward in this life with each other.

BECCA & SCOTT

It started with a simple school girl crushing on an upper class-man. Becca made the first move and from there is was movie nights and crazy dance moves. One of the hardest times of long distance they finally have behind them as they tied the knot this past weekend at Valley Christian Church!

Becca and Scott got ready at the church; the girls were in the main building getting dolled up while the guys played games in the church's house across the parking lot.

Their first look was at Casperson Park on the doc. (This was Scott's favorite part of the day! ) We shot fast and furious just as it started to sprinkle and then the heavens opened and it down poured on us! I just think the sky couldn't hold in the tears of witnessing such a beautiful moment!
Even though we were blessed with rain, I am SO grateful it did note put a damper on Becca and Scott's spirits. It made the day so much brighter. The rain of the day made us move some photo stuff around to accommodate and keep everyone almost all dry for their photos. The bridesmaids were in the same shade of pink with all different style of floor length dresses, while the guys kept it simple with boutonnieres and white shirts.

A huge highlight of the day was the ceremony. Taking place at their church, the seats filled with people eager to witness the marriage between these two. They did a unity cross and the whole time they were just smiling at each other like they were the only two in the room. Right before the vows, their officiant Shawn revealed a little surprise. The Bride Becca had prepared a song just for her groom. A very stunned Scott say down at a chair at the piano while Becca played and sang " From the Ground Up" By Dan + Shay accompanied by her friend Josh. Scott was just basking the the beautiful voice of his now wife. He was not the only one crying in the room that's for sure. (Yes, I was balling too) It was a warm moment just witnessing the love between these two. She got a long hug once the song was completed. I think Scott loved his surprise! Mission Accomplished! Vows were then exchanged and they kissed for the first time has husband and wife!

They hosted the reception at First Baptist Church in Rosemount Minnesota where they first meet. We stole them away a little bit into the reception to take some more photos of the wedding party outside and just a couple more of them. They shared a private first dance and it was beautiful.

The night wrapped up with a sparkler exit!

It was one wedding I will never forget and I am SO happy for Becca and Scott. Please enjoy their wedding day photos!
