Wedding

Drugan's Castle Mound Country Club Wedding Photography | Ethan & Katelyn | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Ethan and Katelyn got married last Friday at Drugan castle mound Golf Course.  It was a beautiful breezy fall day, perfect for a September wedding. Although nerves were high (Ethan revealed that he had hardly slept the last two days) Katelyn and Ethan surrounded themselves with people who loved them. As Katelyn got zipped up into her dress her bridesmaids were all smiles, excited and in awe of Katelyn's beauty. (But who wasn't the whole day?!)
The wedding party reflected the changing trees in bright orange, white and grey, which set off the festive feel for the day! As the ceremony began and the bride was walking up with her father on one arm, Katelyn only had eyes for Ethan. The officiant shared that their union was a symbol of Christ and the church. As a nod to Ethan's heritage, they bound their hands together. When the pastor mentioned that they are holding the hand of their best friend, that was the point where I lost it!  It was a beautiful ceremony! After the ceremony the bride and groom wanted to make sure to thank every one who came in person. As they thanked their guests, Katelyn was a little cold (the day was sunny but in the shade there was a cooler fall breeze). Someone offered to get her a shawl but I think one of the bridesmaids said it best - " Katelyn doesn't need a shawl! She has a husband for that now!!"

The reception was laid back with a social dinner; the bride and groom went from table to table making sure to talk to everyone who made the trip out.  Thankfully the whole wedding day happened without a single problem ( besides one busted zipper at the reception, because there is always one thing ), but even if it had I don't think it would have distracted these two lovebirds from each other anyway. Congratulations to Katelyn and Ethan!!

Minneapolis Event Center Wedding Photography | Amanda & Nick

I was teamed up and shooting Amanda and Nick's wedding with Morning Light Photography at the Minneapolis Event Center! All of Amanda's marble and copper details had all the vendors drooling. Everything was so modern and elegant that it just gave the perfect feel throughout the venue space!  As we started shooting the day Amanda was getting the finishing touches to her hair while sitting in her hubby's  uniform. She was excited and ready to have her first look with Nick!! Who can blame her?! But the first look with her dad was first. When he turned around he was just taken aback by his beautiful daughter. Both Hannah and I were tearing up at such a precious moment!

We braced for the windy day and set up Nick for his turn to see Amanda in all her glory! They decided to have their first look right out in the garden where in a couple of hour they would become husband and wife!  Thankfully the rain held off and all we were fighting with was a little wind and chilly weather, but when you looked at Amanda and Nick goofing off at the end of the aisle you couldn't tell. The were giggling while they said their vows which made it so much fun to watch.

They finished out the night dancing it away while serving cookie dough shooters and  tastest raspberry cupcakes I have ever had.

McNara Alumni Center Wedding Photography | Rachel & Alex

This wedding was a Grace V. Wedding. The heavens opened and the rains came down hard, but that did not drown the excitement Alex and Rachel had for their wedding day! They meet durning college at the university of Minnesota while living in the same building and mutual friends. So having their wedding at the same college they meet at was the perfect fit for them! Both the ceremony and the reception took place at the McNara Alumini Center, which was acticuarlly GORGEOUS!

This has been a very busy time for these two! Within the last two months Alex graduated with his doctorit from the u of m, married his best friend, and accepted a position at Mayo Clinic, and moving to rochester! His dad joked that they were doing more in two months than a normal person does in 2 years!

One of my favorite parts of the day took place at the reception. When Rachel and Alex first meet and started talking, a friend of Rachel's declared they were going to get married right then  and there . Rachel not a believer at that time agreed that if by some miracle it did happen the friend would get a gift for being right. Years later Rachel and Alex has a gift for this friend for being right!

There was a slight opening when the rain stopped and we quickly rushed these two outside for 20 minutes without rain, which turned into some of my favorite photos! Please enjoy!
