St. Paul College Club Wedding Photography | Mitch & Shelby

A couple of weeks ago I was able to be a part of Mitch and Shelby's wedding day! I was shooting alongside Jessica Smith Photography who was the primary shooter. The groom and his friend got ready at Heimie's Haberdashery and to this day i still can never remember what the place is called. But it was definately a masculine type of place to get a shave and prepare for a wedding day! It has all the man's man vibes! Honestly this couple was adorable and you would hardly see either of them NOT smiling. I love second shooting and this wedding was no different. These two lovebirds met at a movie theater that after listening to the toasts is a very popular place among their friends to find the love of your life. Having meet in a movie theater, their whole reception was was placed by themes tables inspired by their favorite movie titles. This bride has a love with anything Kate Spade as seen in her Kate Spade Cake cutters.

Loved being able to shoot at the St. Paul College Club and look forward to shoot there again in future. My favorite part of Mitch and Shelby's wedding day took place durning their vows towards one another. Having just meet this couple on the day I felt like I knew them wood better just by the beautiful words that had for eachother. I mean I was just the photographer and I WAS CRYING MY EYES OUT! Thankfully I wasn't the only one as there was not a dry eye durning the Vows. To Shelby and Mitch : I am so grateful to have met you and share in your day. Your vows to one another will stay with me in the front of my mind as some of the most beautiful, fun, tender loving words towards a spouse I have every heard at a wedding. Thank you for being so giving and sharing to all who were blessed enough to be a part of it.

Sam Hurd Workshop MSP

I found Sam Hurd Photography on Facebook and instantly feel in love with his abnormal touches he left in his photographs.  I eagerly purchased and used my first prism in my photography with his influence. (My prism work is spotted through my instagram @mwaits10)

Sam's work it truly ona a scope and field all on its own. After admiring his craftsmanship for quiet some time, a couple of weeks ago " SAM HURD WORKSHOP IN MINNEAPOLIS " start to pop up in my Facebook news feed. After looking into other workshops, I felt this one to be completely affordable and it took the plunge and booked myself a seat.

I took the day off my weekday job and went. The whole morning my stomach was in knots; I didn't know what to expect with this being my first in person workshop. I made sure to get there a little early and ended up being the first one there. It took place in a local studio with a blonde french bulldog named John Luke who greeted everyone at the door and anyone with food in their hand.

Sam came in wearing gryffindor quidditch with disheveled hair and a laid back personality. The whole day was not what I expected. Sam shared how he did things and was very matter-of-fact. Don't get me wrong, He was a good instructor. After listening to workshops from woman who put not only their facts but also their heart for their students to take in and absorb, it was a little disappointing for me not to get any true heart of who Sam was as a person. But I think that is just showcasing the difference between men and woman.

I think Sam's greatest strength is his endless burning curiosity. It was through his curiosity that he has tried so many years techniques that makes his work unique. The workshop was a great message to never stop trying something different. The aspect I will take away the most is the style of portraits. I loved it and immediately went home and tried it on my husband.

I am grateful having been able to see first hand Sam craft his magic in his photography.

Bunker Hills Event Center Wedding Photography | Jennifer & Tom | Highlights

As the sun shown bright through the windows, we all thanked God for a beauitful day for Jenny and Tom's wedding.  Once Jenny laid eyes on tomorrow fully dressed for the first look, the rest of the day there was little that could take her smile off her face. Jenny floated down the aisle with her father on her arm with eyes locked on the prize.  Their ceremony photos are my personal favorite. This was the first wedding I was in the wedding party and shot! It made for a little bit crazy time back and forth, but I knew I was in good hands with Marcus as my Second Shooter!

As the reception started, you could see everyone visibly relax now that it was time to party! Jenny and Tom LOVE board games so they had a whole separate table of board games for everyone to play during the reception if they didn't want to dance.

Towards the middle of the reception we ran out to capture some of my favorite portraits of the day, sun set photos. Jenny and Tom's veil shot still makes me swoon. 😍

Congrats to my beautiful sister Jenny and her new Hubby Tom!!

Enjoy their highlight video of their lovely wedding day at Bunker Hills Event Center.
