Nikki & Devon

Nikki and Devon got married at their church of First Evangelical Free Church and held the wedding reception at the Maplewood Community Center!

The day started out with them relaxing in their getting-ready rooms. After getting dressed, right before the first look they opened letters they had written to each other. Devon opened his first and smiled through the whole thing ending with him saying " She is a good writer." Nikki got her dress on with the help of her mom and sister. She also smiled the whole time while reading Devon's letter to her.

The first look was tucked away on the path so they could just enjoy each other privately. Once they laid eyes on each other it was ALL smiles! Devon later revealed this as one of if his favorite parts of the day!

We made our way to a small park right behind the church for our portraits! It has a little pond and as we were hunting down a spot to get to the water God led us right to a little field of wildflowers! Nikki had expressed earlier her love of wildflowers and had the florist design her bouquet with wildflower feels! I was SO excited about this little addition to the day! The bridesmaids were in a beautiful burgundy lace dress while the guys kept it summer simple with a white shirt and brown tie to go with their burlap boutonnieres.

The Ceremony was held at First Evangelical Church. Right before the ceremony , their family prayed over them and sang praises to Jesus. Under an arbor lined with greenery and daisies, Nikki and Devon said their vows and the families again joined them for one final prayer on stage. After the vows were said, the ceremony was complete, and the marriage license was signed, we all made our way to Maplewood Community Center to party the rest of the night away!

It didn't come without some happy tears from Nikki's sister giving her speech and then again when Nikki's parents got the mic. They told everyone that Nikki was known for drawing on all the walls, which after they said their bit they both started singing "Writing On the Wall." The bride and groom loved it and got a red crayon as a small souviner! The couple served Nothing Bunt Cake for dessert to all their guests. For the first dances Nikki and Devon started off the normal way dancing with each other while everyone watched, but about half way they invited the wedding party with their significant others to finish out the song with them on the dance floor! I loved how inclusive this was. It is SUCH a great Idea. They did the same for the Daddy Daughter Dance and Mother Son Dance inviting all the parents with their kids to the dance floor!

I wrapped up the photography part of the night by sneaking the couple out for just a last few intimate portraits. What a great day with an Awesome couple!

Megan & Alex

Megan and Alex got married on Saturday at Highland Hills! The planning was crazy all the way up to the day but the rain held off for these two and the night was all sunny skies! Megan hates the cold so she was more than delighted that it was warmer weather! But what was she more delighted about? She was marrying her best friend Alex.

The ceremony took place at the bottom of the hill with a green backdrop. The rug was a last minute addition that Alex’s mom had suggested. Alex and Megan loved the extra pop and feel it added to their simple setup. They had an intimate ceremony of 25 people who love them the deepest. Megan's brother Nick officiated the wedding which made for some fun comments of Megan's past and how happy he was when he heard the new guy she was dating (Alex) was a homeowner. Alex's little brother Archie gave the rings and Megan was able to get the ring on Alex's finger with only a little bit of struggle.

I asked Alex what he was looking forward to for today and he could not wait to get the party started! Megan was just excited to have all her friends there to celebrate with! After the ceremony, the guests started to trickle in for the reception starting off with cocktail hour! All the guests enjoyed drinks and the games set up in the back lawns for them to enjoy the evening with. Alex owns a coffee shop in Eden Prairie called Smiths; for their wedding favorites they had a Megan and Alex Blend for everyone to take home! I absolutely loved this idea! You could just tell by looking at the excitement on Alex and Megan’s faces as they greeted everyone of their guests that they were full of genuine joy! We ended with a handful of sunset portraits and I could not be more in love.

Thank you so much for letting me serve you guys on your wedding day! Please enjoy some of your wedding day photos below!

Glenville Wedding Photography | Sara & Isaac | Glenville Wedding Photographer

The day started out with little sprinkles of rain here and there. Sara and Isaac decided to get married on his family's property in Glenville, Minnesota. Sara got ready at his grandparent’s home at the top of the hill. As we were getting ready, Sara told me all the details she loved about her wedding dress, from the belt to the pattern at the bust. This gorgeous dress looked even better when it was finally on Sara!

As for the groom, all morning Isaac had been setting up the reception space at the bottom of the hill right by one of the large ponds! Once the prep was completed, Isaac waited at the dock for their first look. Their first look was so sweet and they both just had big smiles as they did a couple of turns to give the full affect.

Being on such a big property they had the foresight to have golf carts which made all the difference as we drove around for photos! ( I love golf carts on wedding days! ). We drove the whole wedding party to the little island for portraits and right when we wrapped up the clouds rolled away with the sun shining in all its glory!
The ceremony took place with the beautiful backdrop of one of the ponds. The aisle was lined with fresh purple lilac sitting elegant on cut tree stumps. At the the end of the aisle, they said their vows under a beautiful wood arbor decorated with white linen and flowers at the front.

Sara was literally radiating pure joy with the biggest smile on her face as she walked toward her groom. The pianist played the wedding march and for the first time in my entire wedding job she played the entire song. It was a first and Sara and her dad Joe were chuckling a little bit while they waited for the song to come to a close. My favorite part of the day were the vows. Isaac choked up telling Sara how beautiful she was on the outside and more importantly the inside. It was beautiful and vulnerable. During Sara's vows she just said " I am SO Excited, that wasn't part of my vows but I just wanted to let you know." They had a rope tying part to their ceremony to honor how 3 chords together are not easily broken.

The reception details Sara and Isaac put together blew me away! The had a full blow candy table, and a table for their guests to take little ceramic watering cans. The reception was laid back allowing guests to eat and fellowship. One of the fun details was a camera table where the guests could get their photo taken by a Polaroid camera! All those photos taken were then added into a scrapbook for the bride and groom’s guest book.
The whole day was filled with joy and ended with these two love birds tearing up the dance floor!

Please enjoy photos from their wedding day!
