Adventures with the Husband

Adult Night at the Minnesota Zoo | Sanchez Adventures | Personal

Do you ever just crave a night out? I sometimes spend hours scrolling facebook events in my area to see what is going on in the outside world and to see if it would be something worth doing.

One event I found was adult night at the Minnesota Zoo! With a free zoo located in St. Paul (Como) I have probably been to the Minnesota Zoo one other time in my life because who needs to pay for a zoo when you have a free one right there! Marcus had yet been to the other zoo so I thought it would be a fun night out and exploring. I was right!
The entire zoo was open to have you explore; at each big trail they had beverages and food for you to purchase while enjoying exotic animals but this event was 18+ with not kids.

I found out Marcus could watch monkeys all day and he was completely fascinated by them! The snow monkeys were really fun to watch, but the monkeys on the tropic trail were so interesting to look at. Marcus also really enjoys the bears; they look sooo fluffy I have always been curious how hugging on would feel, but self preservation has won out on that urge. My favorite animal, the red panda, was asleep so not as exciting as a hog with elvish ears that horror movies are inspired from, but I still freaked out when I saw it!

I didn't get too many pictures because I am always torn with the fact that I want photos but I also want to be present in that moment. So for this Sanchez Adventure, I choose to be present.

Overall, it was a fun and new experience for both of us and I am happy we decided to go! It would be an enjoyable date night for anyone who enjoys animals!

Top 3 Things to Eat at the Minnesota State Fair

"Our state fair is a great state fair, don't miss it don't even delay" - State Fair, 1945
We finally reached the beginning of September which means the end of the Minnesota state fair. Yes,my family is a State Fair family and I wouldn't have it any other way! It is literally one of my favorite times of the year right next to Christmas and my birthday. I don't know how it happened but every major holiday I enjoy got pushed back to later in the year ( birthday, anniversary, Christmas, the fair).

My family always would set a day where we would spend the whole day wandering the fairgrounds surrounded by fried food smells, endless noise of thousands of other Minnesotans, and people trying to sell you things you truly don't need.  This year Marcus and I found out that greyhounds are apparently lazy dogs, which Marcus concluded they were perfect for us.

For those who do not know the biggest past time to the fair is to eat. My favorite things to eat at the fair:

Deep Fried Pickles - I have literally tried deep fried pickles at so many different restaurants to compare to the fairs. NOTHING has come close to what they make. As I bite into their crispy deliciousness I remember every year they are literally the best.
Apple Freezes - in the agricultural building there is an apple section with Minnesota grown apples and they sell a cold tart apple cider freeze. I make it a point to get this every year because it is just the most amazing thing on a hot fair day.
Cheese Curds -  salty deep fried cheese. I know you can taste the calories from there, but let me tell you once you have had them life will never be the same. It is more than just food but amazing memories every year with my loved ones.

I have always wanted to shoot an engagement session at the fair. If you know of anyone who is up for an amazing state fair session next year, LET ME KNOW!!!

Well, until next year Minnesota State Fair. ✌

East Coast Pre-wedding Fun | Traveling Wedding Photographer

The past 3 months the desire to go on a vacation has slowly been filling from my toes and through my finger tips. I have been antsy to take a break from the norm and get out of town! I have been singing the opening lines of T.Swifts Wildest Dreams to my husband during all that time. "..Let's get out of this town, drive out of the city , away from the crowds..."

Then it happened, a friend of ours are celebrating their marriage and we were planning on celebrating right there with them!  I enticed Marcus to go with the promise of the NASCAR All Star Race in Charlotte and with that my hubby was also on board!
The days leading up to wedding fun were spent exploring Altalna's breathtaking aquarium.

Watching my NASCAR driver, Joey Logano, win 10 feet away from my seat with one of the best spinouts just have ever seen. (Which is completely understandable because he just won a million dollars)

And enjoying catching up with friends and family.

It has been such a blessing to be able to go on another adventure before some mountain wedding day!
